This book contains all the essential information the RuneQuest Games Master (or dedicated player) needs to adventure in any fantasy setting, be it Glorantha or one of your own devising. RuneQuest – Sixth Edition of the Iconic Roleplaying Game. Created in 1978 by Steve Perrin, Ray Turney and friends, RuneQuest is the classic roleplaying game of fantastic adventure with heroes and magic. Now in a brand new edition, RuneQuest is updated and expanded by Pete Nash and Lawrence Whitaker. With RuneQuest 3rd Edition, everything you need comes with the rules including a decent collection of monsters, beasts, etc. There is an optional Monster Manual, which, though also out of print, I happened to score somewhere online through a book search. I recommend RuneQuestII or RuneQuest III highly, I've not yet looked in detail at Mongoose's recent edition. I give it a 5 for substance (9 out of 10) and a 3 for style (based on a 6 out of 10) as the art is one thing that does reflect the relatively low standards of the early years of roleplaying games.
